Anthony DeBlasi’s research focuses on the intellectual and institutional history of China from the seventh to the thirteenth century. He is the author of Reform in the Balance: The Defense of Literary Culture in Mid-Tang China (State University of New York Press, 2002) and participated in the translation of the Zhenguan zhengyao (the Essentials of Governance published by Cambridge University Press, 2020). He is currently working on a monograph dealing with bureaucratic culture during the Tang dynasty and ed
